So guess what I just did?!
I DELIVERED A BABY BY CAESAREAN SECTION!
I've seen lots and lots of C-sections being done over the last few years, but I'd never actually assisted with one...till now!
It was sooo cool! I got to PUSH down on the mother's abdomen above the baby's bum (baby is head down) so that the baby is pushed out of the C-section cut in the mother's tummy, while the obstetrician pulled and coaxed it out!
It was a pretty awesome experience! (for me)
(..less awesome for the poor sweet mother who was understandably a bit upset at having to have an unexpected C-section when she'd hoped for a vaginal delivery)
But the baby was fine; a cute adorable little boy!
If you've never seen a woman in labour, then let me tell you that there is nothing like seeing a fully grown woman crying in agonizing pain to totally put you off ever wanting to have a baby!
But then, there is nothing like seeing that soft, silky tiny and adorable bundle of joy at the end of it, to make you realise that it's worth it!
What a precious generous gift from God new life is!

My last 2 were C-Section, the first cord-prolapse & therefore crash team flashing lights my bed laid flat & the surgeon holding baby in utero..yup that was 9lb baby Andrew..& my was he worth it! Jacinta planned c-section affected me badly mentally..being paralysed from the neck down..a horrible experience. Interestingly as Jacinta was lifted out she grabbed the stethoscope from round the surgeon's neck! A doctor in the making like her eldest sister?
Yes pain! There is nothing like it really..God gives the grace to bear it...
Congrats!
Regarding pain: I will never forget when I was in labor and delivery at the beginning of my own labor, the ladies on either side of my walls, were screaming in agony. I thought "OMG, what was I thinking having a baby!" The nurses told me, "they didn't want pain killers." Whatever! I was on drugs and it still hurt. But, the cool thing is you do it and you never thought you could.
What, No pictures?
Just kidding. Hope mom and baby are well.
And to think, I thought I was special for having completed reading a book today. You just had to one-up me, huh? :o) Sounds like a really awesome experience! For you, that is. Oy. The whole birthing thing seems less than... well, let's just say that I am mighty glad that I have quite some time before that happens.
