So here I am, at the end of my 3rd week in Canada!
I've been away from home for 4 weeks now (I spent one week in Boston first if you remember), and I have exactly 4 weeks still to go before I return to the shores of Blighty!
This week has been a great week! (as have they all!)
In the hospital I've been doing a mixture of operating theatre stuff, and emergency room stuff. I even had a day of psychiatry too, and next week I'm going to spend some time with the ambulance crew.
The local community have been SO NICE TO ME.
Honestly, I have been taken out by local families and by nurses in the hospital....just out of the kindess of their heart! It's amazing!
I'd like to believe that people in small-town England would be this friendly and welcoming to a random stranger (....*coughs*...hmmm.....)
Also, the Parish Church is AMAZING. I'm making the effort to go to 8am Mass every morning to see Jesus, before turning up at the hospital for around 9am.
I figure that, because during term in England I simply cant get to daily Mass more than 2 or 3 times a working week (excluding Sundays), I really want to go to Mass every day here while I can, where it's okay if I turn up at the hospital at 9:15am or 9:30am!
As I mentioned before, the Church here is a true blessing to the local community. The Priest's homilies are truely top-notch and I am learning so much, and Mass is celebrated reverantly.
and they have confession before every weekday Mass!
So yes! I am very blessed by being here!
(Thank you Delixit Prior for inviting me!!!)
okay, so now...PICTURE TIME!!
This week I went rock climbing, up a real rock-face!
My arms were ACHING the next day! Gosh you have to be strong!

Truth be told, I didnt make it to the very top...but hey, I'm just a beginner!
(and a weakling!)
(whoops, sorry pictures are all a different size. But it's taking a long time to load them, so I dont really want to delete them and re-load them all again).
I went for another beautiful British Columia hike around another lake
I also went raspberry picking again! (seriously, we must've picked over 20 LITRES of raspberries in the last 2 weeks!)
I also went to watch a game called "GoalBall", which is a sports game played by the blind.
(but every has to wear special visors to cover their eyes, because there are different levels of visual impairment)
Basically there are 2 opposing teams of three players. The aim of the game is to try and score points by throwing a big basket-ball sized ball into the other team's net. The ball has a bell in it, so the opposing team can hear where it is even if they can't see it, and they have to dive and slide around the floor to try and stop the ball from going into the net.
Also yesterday I went canoeing!!
I went with some girls I met through Delixit Prior's family and had a very fun time!

I've never been canoeing before and I felt like Pocahontas!

I got to paddle back. It was 1 hr 45mins of solid canoeing, but I managed it well! (we were going in a straight enough line!)
Also, I totally almost walked into a deer the other day! I was walking along looking down at my feet, and suddenly a hear a stomping galloping noise ahead, so I looked up and there was a deer a few metres away from me! It then ran away into bushes, but it was pretty cool for those few seconds!
(and kinda scary because I thought it was a bear or a cougar!)
So yes, that is what I have been up to in the last 6 days! *huge grins*
Chris is doing well in England. He's missing me! awww! (I miss him too! ).
He is still looking for a house for us to live in, as we have to move out of our current one by the 20th August.
Hope you're all well!
God bless!
