BOATING!!

I went on my first ever boating trip over the weekend.

IT WAS SO COOL!

I loved it! It was really really fun!

Although the sunshine is out now and it's gloriously sunny and warm here (yey!), it was a bit overcast and cloudy over the weekend, so we couldn't truely appreciate the beauty of the lake and mountains because of the thin veil of mist.

but it was really pretty none-the less and I'm sure there will be other boating opportunities over the next 6 weeks, which will be even more fantastic, now that the sun is out to stay!

One thing which surprised me is that there are lots of houses built ON the lake...so that they are actually floating on logs and barrels of air on the water!

Yes! They actually float!

We actually stoppped by on one of them, and it was pretty stable. It didn't really feel like you were floating.

I also got to sit on the front part of the boat (the bow?) (my boat terminology isn't that good!), while it was going at about 30mph which was also very, very fun!

and I got to drive the boat as well for a while!
I didn't crash and I managed to avoid going over any logs, so it was a success!

(I do know how to swim! I kept the life-jacket on because I was a bit cold!)
