Sorry I didn't update yesterday what I did on day 4, but I had a sore throat and the start of a fever so I didn't feel very well in the evening and went to bed early. Also, Chris & I got back home at 10:30pm because we got stuck on the interstate in the scariest thunder storm; the lightening streaks were huge and lit up the sky. We then miss a major turning and so had to take a 40 minute detour through the heart of Boston...in the rain...in the dark...when we were both tired and not totally sure where we were headed...
anyhoo!
Yesterday morning we set off for another long drive...
it was nice and sunny in the morning as we drove off to Plymouth, the place where the first pilgrims landed in the Mayflower ship.
In the afternoon we headed down to Cape Cod which is basically full of pretty beaches.
Chris actually has a University friend who is doing some marine research in a little costal town on the Cape and so we went and met up with him (..it was so funny, we just literally wandered into his lab, stood by him and went 'hello Andy!'. He totally wasn't expecting us!)
So then he showed us around a bit. Although it was sunny it was very very very windy. He took us to see some nice beaches and it was while we were standing on the windy beaches for 45minutes that I started to develop my sore throat and subsequent illness.
Look at this thing that swept up on the sea shore:
It also has blue blood.
