Bye bye single life...

This will almost certainly be my last post as a single girlie! Tomorrow I have lectures all morning and will be leaving early to get the mid-afternoon train.

I should arrive up with my family at about 8pm....and then it all properly begins! More relatives from Italy are arriving over the weekend and as are some family friends who will also be staying with us.
On Saturday I will be having my hair cut and doing last minute preparations here & there. We then have a rehersal in the evening....and then on Sunday...I WILL BE GETTING MARRIED!!!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

(I must admit, I am rather looking forward to spending all day flouncing around in my wedding dress on Sunday!!!)

(and of course I am looking forward to marrying Chris too!)

Lots of people have asked me how I feel...so I guess if I was speaking to each of you, that is probably what you would be asking me.

To tell the truth at the moment I feel...normal! A lot more calm than I thought I would be, but not overly nervous or anything.

(...this may all change drastically on Saturday/Sunday morning!!)

But for the moment, it's hard to believe that I'm getting married.

I don't really know what that means in practice. I have never been married before (obviously!), I have never lived with Chris on a day-to-day basis and so I have no idea what married life will be like! It's hard to believe I will never sleep in my little bed again *looks over at comfy bed*, and I won't be living daily with my family, seeing them every day, having breakfast with them, having them randomly wander into my room and tell a funny story.

It's kinda sad in a way that this chapter of my life is over; my dependent childhood years are no more!

But on the other hand I will be gaining something which brings me more joy than the sadness at what is ending....

I will be gaining someone who will help me to grow in holiness and who will help me grow ever closer to God.

I wish I could contemplate more and write some interesting stuff for you all, but it is 00:41am and I have been so busy all day and I have lectures tomorrow morning...that I feel I should go make the most of nice little comfy bed for the last time ever!

bye bye!

God Bless you all!

-x-

ps- just so you know....I will be in Rome till August 10th.

A blessed wedding to you Antonia. Wow, that's great that you're visiting Papa Bene on August 2nd. I assume at Castel Gandolfo? I too was planning on seeing him on his Sunday Angelus on August 2nd but plans changed. May you and Chris be blessed always!

Congrats, and many blessings on you as you start out on married life.

My wife and I just passed the five year mark, and it still seems like we're improvising until we feel "really married". Though with three little girls in tow, I'm not sure what more it would take to convince us...

If you get to meet and have a brief chat with Papa, I'd love it if you could ask him if he's still a Bayern Munich fan, or has he changed his allegiance to Roma??

Then again, you will probably have more important things to discuss with him. . .

But I sign off for now with best wishes for you and Chris.

I saw a post on Hermeneutic of Continuity asking for prayers for you and your fiance... Wow, it's so refreshing to hear about a truly Catholic wedding. With very many prayers and best wishes,

PS. I'm green with envy about the visit to see our wonderful Holy Father!

You are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. It is a sacrament that I will never receive. But, I am happy wear I have decided to go with my life.

May God bless you. Have an excellent and grace-filled wedding day.

You make it seem like you & Chris will never cycle home for your mom's lasagne. That's impossible. Even *I* would cycle to England for that!

Antonia,

It has be quite some time I visit your blog. First I have to congratulate you on your marriage.

Can't give much advice on marriage as I'm single, so I guess you take it one step a time in your marriage and always invited God in your marriage journey.

Say Hi for me to Papa Bene;)

Cheers,
Bravo
