To stay in NY?

As I mentioned a while ago, Chris & I will be spending a week with one of my wonderful friends in Boston (USA) this June.

So seeing as we will be "in that part of the world", we wanted to go spend a day seeing New York, as neither of us have been.

However, my friend advised that spending a night in NY might be better than just a day trip there (especially as the train is about 4 hours from Boston).

So I was wondering....does anyone know of any convents/religious orders/retreat houses, or anywhere Catholicy (& on the cheaper side of cheap) in New York where Chris & I could stay for one night...?

I will do a google search, but I thought I better check with my blogging buddies first, in case anyone has any recommendations.

(afterall, my entire medical elective to Canada has been organised thanks to blog-world connections!!)

thanks

xxxx

I'm still sad that you're coming to Boston during the summer when I won't be here!

I haven't been to NYC. People do day-trips there from Boston all the time, though, especially since you can get tickets there & back for $30 roundtrip. Way cheaper than staying there overnight. Good luck finding somewhere!

I can't wait for you to get here!!!! :-)

I've visited the Sisters of Life in NY but their convents are bursting at the seems and so they don't really have room.

Hi!
You might try the Fransican Friars - they're in the Bronx though. Or maybe the Covenant house?
