..I have no idea what that funny twisty thing is in the picture above?
A bunny wabbit! I know it's not a great shot but it was through glass and a long way away.
I have never had strong feelings about rabbits, but they are actually pretty cute, all fluffy and bouncy and munching on grass!
So guess what happened to me today?!
Chris & I went to Mass not in our usual Church and not in our home-town, and after Mass we were standing outside while Chris unlocked his bike and a very lovely lady came up to me...
Lovely lady: "Hello! I'm sorry to disturb you...but are you Antonia?"
Me: *looking confused & amused* ".....yes!!"
Lovely lady: "ahh! I thought I recognised Chris! But I wasn't sure if it was you!"
Me & Chris now grinning and looking perplexed!!
Lovely lady: "I read your blog!! When I saw Chris in Mass I thought "hm, that looks just like Chris!"!!"
hehe!
It was a genuine pleasure to meet her and a great surprise!
She said she normally goes to a different Mass (& I was tempted to go to an evening Mass too today), but I guess it was Divine Intervention that we meet!!
We have swapped phone numbers and will keep in touch!
It kept me smiling for the rest of the day!!
In other Church-related-news...wasn't today's Gospel great? For those who don't go/haven't yet been/have forgotten, it was the reading where Peter, John & the other disciples are on the boat and have been up all night fishing with no luck. As morning approaches they see someone standing on the shore who tells them to cast out their nets in a certain place, and when they do they catch so many fish that the nets almost break they are so full.
John then recognises that the "someone" on the shore is actually Jesus and so Peter, so full of love for Christ, jumps out of the boat into the water and rushes towards Jesus.
I just love that image of Peter, not being able to wait another minute to be with His beloved Lord, just jumping straight out into the water almost without thinking, and rushing through the water to make his way over to Jesus as fast as He can.
I can just imagine Peter being so blinded by such a powerful genuine love for Christ that He has ceased to think of himself (as he did when he denied Jesus those 3 times) and now thinks of nothing but being with His Lord.
and then what another great image to reflect on, how the disciples spent all night trying to fish and caught nothing, but as soon as Jesus is involved, they get more than they ever have.
If we invite Him to be with us, God always give us back more abundantly than we could imagine.
anyhoo, I better get back with my revision.
I know I have just had 2 weeks holiday....but I could certainly do with another 2! (..or more..!)
God Bless

My favourite bit is where Jesus says "come and have breakfast" and he had it cooked and waiting...
...hey, that's my kind of guy...!
Wow that's a pretty cool meeting! (you and the lovely lady I mean).
I totally love this Gospel too, and the way Peter jumps in even though "they were not far from shore, only about a hundred yards". I mean, technically, he probably didn't get to shore any sooner than the disciples who stayed in the boat did, but it's like his love is so great he doesn't stop to think - he just reacts, at once, to Jesus being there! It's like he's drawn by Jesus. We can try to be equally responsive! St Peter, Pray for us.
What a nice post. I thought the bunny picture was very good. Spring is here! Yes, nice Gospel. Liked your thoughts on it.
the funny twisty thing looks a bit like a coat rack....or a rotary airer....but I'm sure it's something with a deeper meaning than either of my suggestions!
Great pics!
Not only was Sunday's Gospel one of my favorites for MANY reasons (beautiful imagery, well-spoken commission of "Feed my sheep", parallelism that beautifully sums up the Gospel of John), but I also loved the FIRST reading.
The disciples had such zeal for Jesus' Name that they left jail "rejoicing that they had been worthy to suffer dishonor" for Him!
And then yesterday and today's readings about St. Stephen and the way that he forgave his murderers ... such a beautiful testiment to God's Mercy.
I love the spirit and the life that is found in the book of Acts!
