had a good weekend. Mine was pretty busy...revision, Mass (x2), adoration,
confession, rosary prayer group, another birthday dinner, showing all my wedding
photos to my family (they hadn't seen the ones from the photographer yet), out
to buy new bed sheets & pillows (Chris's neck is apparently being crippled by the scrawny pillows we currently have and he's in so much pain that he hasnt been able to do any rowing training for the last 2 days (a bit of a nightmare when you're aiming to train twice a DAY for some big rowing trials coming up in 2 weeks!))(the new pillows we bought are apparently also too scrawny!), entertaining Chris's friends who came over (luckily I didn't have to go down the toast & jam route as when Chris's parents were here!)
Oh, in other news...we have some interesting and mildly entertaining blue sparks that appear from under the washing machine when it is turned on. This is accompanied by a loud *bang* noise from inside the washing machine....
Needless to say that we swicthed it off immediatly and so havent been able to do any washing for the last 5 days as we wait for the washing machine repair man!
Anyway, I should go now. It is 8:30am and I am still in my pjs (luckily I dont have to be in till 9:30am, but as I dont quite know where I need to be ( I am based on a new psychiatry site as of today), I should probably go early to find my way around! I am starting psychiatry IN-patients today, which means all the people who have such seriously bad illness that they need to be kept in hospital (as opposed to OUT-patients which is what I've been doing for the last 3 weeks (i.e. patients with psychiatric issues but who can live in the community).
God Bless!
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.
-Bl. Mother Teresa The Struggle
We have to instil in our souls a true horror for sin. Lord -say it with a contrite heart - may I never offend you again!
But don't be frightened when you become aware of the burden of your poor body and of human passions: it would be silly and childishly naive to findout now that "this" exists. Your wretchedness is not an obstacle but a spurfor you to become more united to God and seek him constantly, because He purifies us. - St. Josemaria Escriva, Furrow, #134
Dont forget to pray for Priests!!
aarrgghhhh!! My photo-uploading option is broken AGAIN on blogger!
