thanks to those of you who left nice encouraging comments about my friend. Prayer is the best weapon, so I'm praying for her, and hoping for whatever God considers best to be done.
I had a nice day today; we had an Archbishop come to our Catholic church to celebrate Mass. I had a bit of an "....oooops!" moment during Mass though..!
I was altar serving and after Communion His Grace, the Archbishop, went to sit back down in his place, and so I went up to him with the water and finger bowl to wash his fingers (as he'd just administered the Body of Christ. )
Because he's an Archbishop we had a nice big claret jug with water in to pour over his fingers, as opposed to our usual smaller one. A bit like this one, but silver:
Unfortunatly, I didn't fill it up with water so I didn't know how much was in there when I started to pour.
I tipped it over his fingers...and nothing came out...tipped some more...still nothing...more...no water....
so then I gave it a bit of a bigger tilt, and a gush of water poured out unexpectedly splashing a bit down his vestments!! He Archbishop went "...YUCK!.." and looked at me!
I looked back at him feebly, and said "I'm sorry!"
Luckily only a few droplets had splashed down his vestments, but I think it was just how unexpectedly it gushed out of the jug that shocked him a bit!
haha! I've made an Archbishop say 'Yuck' during Mass!!
In other news, Radical Catholic Mom links to a horrible post a woman wrote a few days after she was unable to get 'Emergency Contraception' (EC) ('The morning after pill').
It's a bit of a yuck post, so if you have delicate ears or are young, I wouldn't recommend reading it at all.
Basically, she's complaining becauce she was unable, for various reasons, to get the morning after pill for 2 days when she wanted it.
Towards the end of her post she makes the following comments about what she will do if she is actually pregnant:
Oh and if I end up having to get an abortion I’ll ask if I can keep the little parasite and I’ll be sending it to each of you who denied me EC.
The "little parasite" she is talking about is her own CHILD...a human being!
my word! I can't imagine anyone having such hate in their heart. what a horrendous and evil thing to say.
Man, she needs prayers.

You know I didnt think the blog was that bad... a bit "bleh" but then I got down to the last few paragraphs and almost wanted to puke at her disgusting, graphic kind of hate.
yuck.
Oh my gosh- how could anyone ever say things like that. That really gets me going. i cant believe that there are people out there in the world like that. Imagine if our parents had said that about us. And ... to think that she has 2? or 3 kids already- i feel for them, because theyre going to grow up under her influence and acquire attitudes like that, and it'll happen all over again! its really sad.
