I understand the concept of modern art in theory...that random simple mundane things can have a deeper symbolism and meaning than they first appear....but seriously £36.7 million! I don't even understand how much money that is! For a bit of paint!
Maybe I'm not artistic enough....
surely anyone can do modern art like that?
Oh loook...my mug, half-filled with tea...it represents modern life, a symbol for how our lives are so rushed and hectic that we never manage to finish what we start, never have time to enjoy the simple things to the full, and then when we go back to them, they are cold and stagnant and unpalatable.
