Downs Syndrome

VIDEO ON DOWN'S SYNDROME

Over 90% of women who find that they have a Down's Syndrome baby have an abortion and most obstetricians encourage it (..or do nothing to discourage it), and it is almost expected that women will abort with this diagnosis.

in this video parents of children with Down's Syndrome go to hospitals to speak with Dr.'s about what it's like to have Down's Syndrome child and to show them what children with Down's Syndome are like (as probably most obstetricians have no contact with Down's Syndrome children) (...they only contact they have is prenatal in-utero diagnosis and then aborting them).

I honestly can't understand abortion.

There are many sins that I can understand why people do...sex before marriage, contraception, divorce ( for the love of God, don't ever do any of them! ) , I can see how people could stray, be brainwashed by Satan's lies and fall into that trap....but abortion?!!

Killing your own child while they are actually living INSIDE your body?!!

How do people talk themselves into that and justify it to themselves?

Abortion literally makes me feel sick to the pit of my stomach.
I was talking about it with my brother a while ago and we both actually had to stop speaking about it because it is just so vile and cruel that it was really quite upsetting.
I'm not making any judgements on the women involved, but the sickening joy that it must bring to Satan to know that innocent children are being slaughtered just makes me want to shudder.

anyway, the video is quite good.

anyway, back to revision (so that, please God and through His grace only, I will one day be a doctor who supports Life!)

My nephew has Down's Syndrome and will be having his 15th birthday in December. It's not all roses for Alex, he is seriously disabled. He can not speak and can only communicate a little with very basic sign language (I want a drink etc). But I tell you something, he has bought so much joy into our lives, really he has. If only the mothers of babies with down's, knew how much beauty their baby could bring to their lives...

Abortion is the ultimate act of selfishness.

Nothing validates abortion! Absolutely nothing! These kids and people are so pure, thats the word that best fits them, they have so much love to give and bring so much joy to those around them. They are indeed a blessing.

I agree with ukok, abortion is indeed the ultimate act of selfishness.

While my mom was pregnant with my closest sister, the doctors told her there was a 90% chance that her baby would be born with downs syndrome, and they recommended an abortion.
13 years lady, my sister is a quite intelligent, fully functioning, normal young woman (and, so what if she wasn't?!)--just makes you wonder how often this happens.

Yeah... my aunt had Down's Syndrome (she died last summer), and she was one of the sweetest people I have ever known in my life. Yeah, she was a handful at times, but who isn't? She was the most delightful, most loving handful I could imagine. (Ok, maybe I'm more than a little biased/upset about the whole Down's Syndrome thing...)

Someone actually told me that her parents had gotten pregnant and the doctor told them that their baby had Down's Syndrome and asked if they wanted to abort (the doctors really pushed the abortion). It was hard for them to face, but they decided that God gave them that baby and that they were going to keep it, even if it did have Down's Syndrome. Many months later, the baby was born. And you know what? No Down's Syndrome. The girl's parents were so enraged, because there was NOTHING at all wrong with the baby and the doctors had tried to convince them to get an abortion when they were wrong.

While I find abortion absolutely abhorrent, I do think that it is important to remember that there are two victims concerning abortion-the child and his or her mother. Someone very close to me had an abortion because she was terrified when she found out she was pregnant, and good ole' planned parenthood offered her abortion as her only option. She regretted that abortion for the rest of her life. I didn't know that she had an abortion, and i made a lot of insensitive comments about abortion around her (ultimate act of selfishness, it would be just if God made women who had abortions sterile, etc). It wasn't until after she died that i realized what she had done and how much she regretted it. Please, in the future, condemn abortion, not the women who are tricked into having one.
