pray for them

Nothing but self-will can separate us from God.
– St. Alphonsus Liguori

Meaning...the only thing that seperates us from God is our choices against Him.
HE certainly doesn't ever separate Himself from us.

In this month of November let us especially remember that countless infinite sea of people who have died but, with the stain of sin still on their soul, need to spend some time being purified until worthy to enter into God's presence for eternity....that is, the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

Also, as it says in II Maccabees 12:46: "It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins."

The Holy Souls can also pray for you and for your needs! Pray for them, and then ask them to pray for you!

Don't forget that Jesus said all believers are part of His Body...that means ALL believers, no matter whether we are alive or dead we are still part of the body of Christ! And because we are part of the body of Christ, we are 'in communion' with one another, and so can pray for each other!
Clearly, the souls already in Heaven don't need our prayers, but they can pray for us, and so can the souls in Purgatory, and so we should ask them to!

and just think, if we pray for the souls of Purgatory, and if through our prayers they are helped to get to Heaven that little bit sooner, just think what they will be like when *WE* die!
In gratitude for our prayers, they will throw themselves before God's thrown and beg His mercy on us and so help us get to Heaven that little bit sooner too!

So especially in November, the month dedicated to the Holy Souls, pray for them & offer Masses for them (it is probably the best, most profitable way we can spend our money!)

Don't forget that God is NEVER outdone in generotity!
If you are generous with your time and money to Him, by being generous to those in need, He will be an infinite amount more generous with you!

And one group of people who are in DEFINITE need are those suffering in Purgatory.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Most Precious Blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the said said throughout the world, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinner in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my own family.

WOW!! Anotnia, that was really thoughtful. I read carefully what you said and its really helped me. I struggle with death a lot and the fact that i dont know if im going to heaven, and struggle loads with understanding that there's no way back into God's kingdon, but what you said really struck a chord with me and has given me renewed hope! thanks xxxxx

Lovely prayer of St. Gertrude the Great. It supposedly releases 1000 souls from Purgatory every time it is said! I keep a copy of that prayer in my wallet.
