Another reason not to smoke...

Am just learning about cervical cancer.....did you know that some of the chemicals in cigarette smoke can be detected in cervical mucus?!

How awful!

These carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons damage the DNA within cervical cells, and increase the risk of cervical cancer.

Other risk factors for cervical cancer include: multiple sex partners, early age of first intercourse, high-risk male sex partner (i.e. a man who has had sex with lots of women, or who has ever had sex with a women with cervical cancer), HPV virus
