Dr. Billings is dying

I'm sure many of you Catholics have heard of "The Billings Method" -- the very first method of NFP, developed in the 1950s.

It was pioneered by a neurosurgeon, Dr. Billings, and involves tracking a woman's fertility by paying attention to the sensation at the vulva and the appearance of any vaginal discharge. This information can be used to achieve or avoid a pregnancy and can be used even during irregular cycles, breastfeeding, or peri-menopause.

Dr. Billings has has spoken at many Vatican conferences, and was was urged on in his work by personal contact by both Pope Paul VI, and John Paul II, both of whom learnt and understood the Billings Method of NFP, and supported its use.

Dr. Billings is currently very close to death, and asks for our prayers for a peaceful death.

Here is the Billings website for more info on the Billings method.

Oh I didn't know this! It's sad, though what a great thing he did with his life.
We don't use the Billings method, but one very similar-Creighton. I am sure w/o Billings first Creighton would not be what it is.
Prayers for him!
