Upload your photo to make a huge portrait of John Paul II

http://www.thank-you-jpii.net/eng

World Youth Day in Cologne is now only 52 days away and what a perfect time to reflect on the man who made it all possible – Pope John Paul II.

Whilst it is very sad that the founder of the world youth gatherings won’t be in Germany this time, his spirit will undoubtedly inspire over a million people and help them tune in to Christ and his living church.

JPII remains in the hearts and minds of many and it’s not too late to say thank you to an inspirational leader who showed young people that they are at the very heart of Christianity.

Help build a huge mosaic portrait of JPII

JP2 Collage

domradio in Germany has teamed up with Fujifilm to offer you the chance to help build a massive photo mosaic of John Paul II. Thank you JPII want you to upload portrait photos of yourselves to the site and, with many thousands of others, your pic will make up a small tile on the face of one of the most recognized figures in history. We want to show that love is stronger than death and that John Paul II’s positive message is commemorated by millions of people.

Thank you JPII organisers

This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of something special and, no matter where you are in the world, you can submit your image to make a significant contribution to the 'Thank You JPII' project. The finished mosaic portrait will be presented at the beginning of World Youth Day 2005 opposite Cologne Cathedral.

Everyone who uploads a photo will receive a personalized link so they can trace their individual contribution to the project (this will zoom in on a web-based version of the JPII image).

“We want to show that love is stronger than death and that John Paul II’s positive message is commemorated by millions of people”, say project creators Ingo Brüggenjürgen, Lutz Langel and Ralf Walter.

This is an exciting initiative and not only will it keep JPII’s memory burning brightly in the minds of the pilgrims, it will also result in the world's biggest ever photo mosaic.
