Why?
The answer is simultaneously, 'I have no idea' and 'waaay too many reasons to explain'.
I've been toying with the idea of stopping blogging for a good few months now, but something always comes up which I have to blog about...and then I've started all over again!
I do really like blogging but...I just feel this time that I really do want to stop, and step back.
I will probably write again in a few weeks, and that'll be to either...
a) end all blogging completely. But that would be sad!
b) resume normal blogging activities on here
c) resume normal blogging activities but on a new password protected blog, which will be open to pretty much anyone who asks for the password.
As my life is changing I would really like to write more personal specific stuff about myself and my life on my blog, but I'm finding myself increasingly uncomfortable with the idea that I don't know who might be reading my posts...I never used to care, but for various reasons now I do....so the thought of having a password protected blog is very appealing.
I'd be happy giving the password to pretty much anyone who asks, whether I know them "in real life" or not.
It's not that I want to know who is reading my blog, it's more that I want to know who isn't reading!
So yeh, I've just decided to stop blogging for now, while I have a think!
I thought I'd let people know, so that you don't keep bothering to check back here every day, as it will probably be quiet for a few weeks.
But I'll still be surfing your blogs!
God Bless!

Hmm... I kind of know how you feel..
I enjoy reading your blog and if you do a password blog I'd want the password for sure.
Blogging about certain things (which I don't do myself but should) can inspire people to think about things. Personal things are difficult though because anyone could be reading them I agree.
Ciao!
I completely understand, you know that I've been mulling this over myself, but am sticking with it for now, while there's still something to blog about and while I'll miss it more than I reasonably should.
I do hope that this isn't the last of you we see in the blogosphere as a writer and a commenter.
God Bless you
:-)
Hope to see you back and blogging one way or another soon. :)
Makes sense. Personal things are... well, personal. It'd be good if you kept a public blog running, of course, since your commentary on things Catholic is really heartening for converts like me, but it's your blog after all.
Should you do the password blog thing, I'd certainly be interested to read it.
Looking forward to the posts in a few weeks, then:) We'll miss you in the meantime. Prayers!
it is certainly a quandry..keep in touch..
I understand, but I will miss you.
God bless! Isn't it weird how people who don't know each other can miss you?
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!
:-)
I will miss blogging too, but will definitly still be reading & commenting!
-x-
I read you every day. You will be missed. Would love to have the password if you go that route. God bless you and Chris.
Everyone else is being so nice & supportive, so I figure it's my duty to step up and say, "WHAAAAAAT?! OH, NO, YOU DON'T!" What are you THINKING? This is totally unacceptable. I will not have it. Nope, nope, nope. Not allowed to stop blogging. It will make me cry. DO YOU WANT TO MAKE ME CRY? Uhm... no, I'm just kidding. Kind of. You should do the right thing for you. (*psst* That's continuing to blog, in case you were confused!) ;) I love you!!!!! :D Sorry I've been so absent lately! Too much on my plate for sure.
I understand. I'm starting to feel a little paranoid at church activities as though people know more about me and secretly think things without me knowing whether they read my blog or not...whatever you decide, include me on your list of private viewers? I would miss your posts too much!
I completely understand your sentiments.
But I'll miss you! :-)
I can understand your decision; last year of medical school doesn't seem like a bed of roses, so that must come first. But I sincerely hope you do not disappear from cyberspace altogether. Your medical knowledge and experience, despite your youthful age, is invaluable to us in this day and age. God speed.
Antonia
God bless.
I know how you feel. I nearly posted photo's of my dd baptism-but decided not to. I get worried about being known online because frankly there are some pretty unpleasant people out there.
OTOH I've not come across anyone like that...yet.
Difficult decision.
Antonia if you are closing up shop with a password, I'd love to have it.
I understand your need or want to close it down... sometimes I feel the same way.
This is why I like livejournal because you are able to password protect or "friends only" some entries and leave others public...
Make it a break rather than a fullstop. You'll be missed - stop by my blog after the start of advent.
Come back soon, Antonia. If you don't I will have to needle you into returning whenever I encounter you after Mass! Your blog is extremely useful to me because of the posts on Catholic ethics.
However, everybody needs a break now and then. Enjoy your time away and see you soon. x
I used to make a blog post everday, but that's just too much for me sometimes with all of demands on my time. Now I make, maybe 2 or 3 posts in one week. You could do something like that. You know, every so often.
But I know what you mean about who reads this stuff, BUT, just so you know, I like reading your blog and I'm sure others who surf on by do too!!! If you were password-protected they wouldn't be able to get inspired by you. BUT I understand all the reasons.
Hi Antonia, I am considering and probably will do the same exact thing. For some reason as of late I've been feeling uncomfortable also and decided I'll probably have my blog password protected.
If I do, you surely will get the password if you want. Also, please could I have yours?
Antonia, I have decided to make my blog available by invitation only. If you are interested, pop by my blog and let me know, thanks!!
Wow... well I guess you'll feel freer to enjoy life for a little while... and maybe that burning desire to blog about everything you do will wear away after a while...
But can you live without the self-gratifying fame, fortune, attention, and love from fellow blogger/blog-readers??
Whatever you do, rest assured of my prayers and a welcome place to stay if you're ever in Brum. +
Come back? :o( *sad*
Antonia, I know what you mean... for me it was weird meeting people who read my blog when the sharings have been a little too personal, when I had no idea who they were!
Anyway, I'd like to know what you are up to from time to time should you decide to continue with the password-protected blog...
